Help & FAQ

Welcome! Here are answers to the most common questions about Our Father’s Field. Still stuck, or have an idea to make it better? Share it on the Feature Requests board, or reach Dispatch to Discipleship Ministries at dispatchtodiscipleship.net.
Getting started
- How do I create a league?
- From your dashboard, tap 'Create a league'. Pick your sport, then choose to host the league right here on Our Father's Field (native) or connect an existing Sleeper league. For a native league you'll set the scoring format, roster size, and number of weeks, then agree to the league covenant. Once it's created you'll get an invite code to share with everyone you want to join.
- How do I join a league I was invited to?
- Tap 'Join a league' from your dashboard, enter the 8-character invite code your commissioner shared, choose your team name, and agree to the covenant. You'll appear as a member right away.
- What scoring format should I pick?
- For football you can choose Standard (points for yards and touchdowns only), Half PPR (adds half a point per catch), or PPR (adds a full point per catch). The only difference is how much a catch is worth — PPR rewards receivers and pass-catchers most. The commissioner sets this when creating the league.
- I'm in more than one league — how do I switch?
- Tap 'My Leagues' in the header to see all your leagues, grouped by sport. Select any league to open it. If you're in multiple sports, use the sport chips at the top to filter.
Field House
- What is the Field House?
- The Field House is your league's home base. It shows the standings, the current scoreboard/matchups, the season schedule, and a snapshot of how your team is doing. Start here each time you open your league to see where things stand.
Draft Room
- What is the Draft Room and how do I draft?
- The Draft Room (for leagues hosted here) is where your league drafts players live, in a snake order. When it's your turn, pick a player from the available list and they're added to your roster. If you can't make the live draft, autopick will choose the best available player for you so you never miss a turn. The commissioner starts the draft when everyone has joined.
Lineups
- How do I set my lineup?
- Open the Lineups tab and place your players into your starting slots for the week. Only players in your starting lineup earn points, so set it before the weekly deadline. You can adjust it any time up until that deadline.
Transactions (waivers & trades)
- How do I add, drop, or trade players?
- The Transactions tab is where you manage your roster after the draft. Add available players from Free Agents or submit a waiver claim, drop players to open a spot, and propose trades to other teams. Depending on league settings, trades may need commissioner approval before they go through.
Message Board
- What is the Message Board?
- The Message Board is your league's conversation space — post updates, share highlights, talk a little friendly trash in love, and encourage one another. You can reply to others' posts and add reactions, and you can edit or delete your own posts.
Weekly Huddle
- What is the Weekly Huddle?
- The Weekly Huddle is a short, Scripture-centered devotional for your league each week, plus a library of past huddles you can read anytime. It's a simple way to keep fellowship and faith at the center of the competition.
Prayer Huddle
- How do I use the Prayer Huddle?
- The Prayer Huddle is where your league lifts each other up. Post a prayer request or a praise report, and choose how it's shared — publicly, anonymously, or just to the commissioner. When you're praying for someone's request, tap 'Praying' so they know, and mark your own request 'answered' when God comes through.
Field Report
- What is the Field Report?
- The Field Report is a weekly recap of your league — the week's matchups and results alongside the current standings — so you can catch up at a glance on who won, who's rising, and how your team stacks up.
Announcements
- What are Announcements?
- Announcements are important updates from your commissioner — draft times, deadlines, playoff news, and reminders. Check here so you don't miss anything that affects your league.
Field Awards
- What are Field Awards?
- Field Awards celebrate your league members — honoring both good competition and Christ-like character. Your commissioner (or a co-commissioner) hands them out, and you'll find everyone's awards on the Field Awards tab.
The Covenant
- What is the league Covenant?
- The Covenant is your league's shared commitment to play with integrity, encourage one another, and keep fellowship first. You agree to it when you join a league, and you can revisit it any time on the Covenant tab.
Roles
- What's the difference between a commissioner and a member?
- The commissioner created the league and runs it — settings, the draft, the schedule, announcements, and Field Awards. Members play their team: setting lineups, making waiver claims and trades, and joining in on the Message Board, Prayer Huddle, and Weekly Huddle. A commissioner can also promote a trusted member to co-commissioner to help post announcements and give awards.
Your account
- How do I change my name, email, or password?
- Open Account settings from the header. You can update your display name, email, and password there, and choose whether to receive the weekly digest email.
- I have an idea to make the app better — where do I share it?
- Head to the Feature Requests board, submit your idea, and upvote others you'd love to see. The ministry reviews suggestions and marks them Planned, In progress, or Done.
